Thank you to the PUSPANITA Association of Wives of Civil Servants and Women Civil Servants for providing me with the opportunity to attend and showcase the longest Al-Quran in the world at the Majlis Tazkirah dan Khatam al-Quran “Kasih Ramadan PUSPANITA 1444H” event.
I asked the khat artist to write 18 pieces of Khat art regarding the Hadith “syurga di bawah tapak kaki ibu” (The heaven is under a mother’s feet).
I believe that this is one of the most beautiful teachings of the Al-Quran.
Even though I cannot represent other men, I constantly remind myself that if I say anything harsh or do any harm to women, I am disrespecting my wife, my daughters, my sisters, and most importantly, my mother, who is a woman. I believe that respecting women is like respecting one’s own mother.
During my visit to PUSPANITA, I had the honour of meeting DS Dr. Wan Azizah, the beloved wife of the 10th Prime Minister of Malaysia, who also represents the mother of our beloved nation.
Overall, I am grateful for the opportunity to attend the event and showcase the longest Al-Quran using the paper cutting technique.
This is a combination of Malay (Quran) and Chinese (Papercutting Technique) intended to promote unity between different races in society.
