Country Heights Holding Berhad
Lee transformed the world’s largest open cast tin mine into The Mines Resort City.
It started with the construction of The Mines Wonderland.
The completion of The Mines Wonderland theme park.
Malaysia Entrepreneurs’ Development Association (Persatuan Usahawan Maju Malaysia – PUMM) is a multi-racial non-profit making organization. PUMM was established in 1993 by a group of young entrepreneurs lead by Tan Sri Lee Kim Yew, the CEO of Country Heights Bhd.
1996 -
Expansion to South Africa London Sarawak and many more
Peacanwood Resort & Residential Estate, South Africa's first country home estate, was established by Country Heights Holdings Berhad.
Piling construction began for The MINES International Exhibition & Convention Centre (MIECC), Malaysia's largest convention and exhibition hall.
The majestic completion of the rest of The Mines Resort City's components, which comprise the Mines Waterfront Business Park, Palace Beach & Spa, Mines Shopping Fair, Palace of the Golden Horses, and Malaysia International Exhibition & Convention Center.
With Lee's and the team’s efforts, the ExCeL Exhibition and Conference Center project in London took off.
Lee met Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II during her stay at the Palace of the Golden Horses, which was the selected venue for the Asia-Pacific Economic Conference (APEC).
Lee’s Borneo Highlands Resort was officially launched by Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohammad (then Prime Minister) as the world's first rainforest holiday homes and golf course located 1000 meters above sea level at the border of Kalimantan, Sarawak.
2002
Lee met Nelson Mandela during his visit to the Brazilian World Cup Football Team.
2004
Lee established Golden Horses Health Screening Healthcare with the tagline “Prevention is Always Better than Cure”.
2005
The International Malaysia Education Centre (IMEC) began operations at the Country Heights Kajang facility.
Cheng Ho Multi Culture Education Trust keeps a low profile in Malaysia, which is a pre-requisite for it to be effective in promoting multi-religious effort and peace successfully. In promotion of China’s relationship with Asia in 2005, Tan Sri Lee Kim Yew hosted the Admiral Cheng Ho Voyages Exhibition in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to commemorate the 600th anniversary of Cheng Ho’s Sea expedition.
2006
Mines Beach Resort & Spa was rebranded to “Palace Beach & Spa”, while Country Heights Vacation Club was rebranded to “Palace Vacation Club” and Country Heights Health Sanctuary was rebranded to “Palace Health Sanctuary” to create a unified brand.
2007
Country Heights Holdings Berhad launched Cyber Residency in Cyberjaya, Malaysia.
2008
In the effort to expand and diversify the health business, Country Heights officially launched the Traditional Chinese & Complementary Wellness centre (TCM), which was approved by the Ministry of Health Malaysia.
Lee relinquished his Managing Director position, which he had held for the past 24 years and was re-designated as the Non-Executive Deputy Chairman.
2009
The World Chinese Economic Forum was founded by its Patron, Tan Sri Lee Kim Yew and Organising Chairman, Tan Sri Michael Yeoh 12 years ago in Kuala Lumpur. It has been re-branded as the Global Chinese Economic & Technology Summit to refocus on the importance of business as a driver of sustainable economic growth and as builders of bridges across communities, nations and cultures.
2012
Lee presented a book to H.E. Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (Former President of Indonesia).
2013
Lee met the President of the People’s Republic of China H.E. Xi Jinping.
2019 -
Lee decided to pursue his interest in cryptocurrencies. He established Golden Touch Investment Bank Ltd and Golden Horse Digital Investment Bank Ltd.
During Malaysia’s Movement Control Order (MCO) in March 2020, Lee initiated Bantu-bantu Malaysia, a non-profit social welfare initiative. The initiative supplied masks and personal protection equipment (PPEs), food baskets and other essentials to the mid to low-income groups. More than 30,000 food baskets and other food necessities were distributed by Bantu-bantu Malaysia.
Bantu-bantu Malaysia has also donated masks, surgical gowns, ventilators, PPEs, surgical masks, and N95 grade masks to medical staff and front-liners of private and government hospitals as well as NGOs in various states, such as Kuala Lumpur, Sabah, and Kelantan. Food was also distributed to the JAWI Food Bank, Social Welfare Department, Majlis Agama Islam Wilayah Persekutuan, Army Veterans, and other NGOs.
MIECC was one of the venues for the National mega-vaccination programmes.
